A PLASTIC surgeon and father has pleaded not guilty to downloading more than 100 indecent images of children.

Mansoor Khan, who had worked at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust in this role since 2009, was charged following an investigation by the National Crime Agency (NCA).

Heard by Salisbury Magistrates’ Court today, May 27, the 53-year-old pleaded not guilty to making such images between December 10, 2020, and August 24, 2021.

This includes 31 category A images – ranked as the most serious - 14 category B and 61 category C.

Khan, of Ridgeway Road, Salisbury, who specialises in reconstructive surgery, breast surgery, body contouring and 'facial rejuvenation', was suspended in August last year by Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust pending the investigation.

Following today’s plea, he will attend Salisbury Crown Court on June 24.

During this time Khan must declare all his electronic devices to the NCA, and provide devices if requested.

Original bail conditions prohibited Khan from being near children, including his own, or in sites children are likely to be, which defence said was having “serious effects on the mental health of his children”.

Dr Peter Collins, chief medical officer at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, previously said: "The trust has fully supported the National Crime Agency investigation and recognises the seriousness of the charges against Mr Khan.

"If any of our patients or their parents and guardians who have been treated by Mr Khan at Salisbury Hospital have any concerns we would encourage them to contact our Patient Advocacy and Liaison Service (PALS) for support."

Dr Collins added: "Patients awaiting treatment by Mr Khan will be transferred to an alternative surgeon at the hospital and will be directly notified by the team."
