A nursery near Salisbury that focuses on learning outdoors from nature is celebrating its first Outstanding Ofsted rating.

Brambles Outdoor Nursery, Figheldean, was deemed Outstanding in all areas in its inspection on April 21.

The nursery - which also has locations in Wilton, Hindon, and Cholderton - encourages learning in a natural environment.

Ofsted inspector Sarah-Louise Clements praised the "exceptional" nursery for its "unique outdoor-centred environment", where children "enjoy the benefit of fresh air and an outdoor sleep space".

The inspector described how the "highly motivated" leadership team at the nursery is "always striving to improve its excellent practice”, and understand how Covid has impacted yung families.

"Parents report this has been a 'lifeline' for them coming out of the pandemic with a young child. As a result, children settle extremely quickly," the report added.

Rachel Busby and Beverly Budd, owners of the nursery group, said of the report: "We are immensely proud of our team and families who have worked together to achieve this grading.

"The early years community have never been under so much pressure and our team has pulled together under difficult circumstances to provide the best experience for the children we care for, whilst continuing to support families and their own wellbeing."
