EMERGENCY services were called to a crash on the the A354 near Coombe Bissett.

Wiltshire Police says it was called shortly before 2pm today (Wednesday, June 15).

At 4.15pm, police said the road had been cleared.

A statement added: "One person has been taken to hospital but thankfully is not believed to have been seriously injured."

Firefighters from Salisbury and Wilton attended the scene where a car ended up on its side. A telegraph pole has also fallen into the road as a result of the incident. 

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A354 near Coombe Bissett at 2.04pm, crews attended from Salisbury and Wilton.

"One car was on its side, and a female casualty was helped from the vehicle into the care of the ambulance service. As a result of the incident, a telegraph pole has fallen into the road."

Fire crews left the scene at around 3pm. 

This is the second collision reported on this road this week. 

On Monday (June 13), a female driver was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash involving a tree on the A354 Salisbury Road.
