Stars appeal supporters will be turning out in force today (Sunday, July 3) for this year's Walk for Wards.

It takes place at Wilton House and this is the first time Walk for Wards has been held in person since before the pandemic started.

The 1,600 people registered will walk either the 10k, 5k or 3k routes to raise money for the Salisbury District Hospital Stars Appeal by supporting the hospital ward or department of their choice

Funds raised will help towards the £1million the Stars Appeal aims to raise this year to fund projects, service and equipment for patients and the NHS staff who care for them.

Speaking previously, Lord Pembroke, the president of the Stars Appeal, said “I am so excited to be able to welcome you all back to Wilton House for Walk for Wards.

"The Stars Appeal is so important to all the community in Salisbury and all the staff at Salisbury Hospital. And your support will make such a difference. So please come and join me and my family this year at Walk for Wards. Thank you.”
