A FORDINGBRIDGE firefighter has celebrated 30 years of service.

Ross Freeman joined the fire service in Hampshire on July 1, 1992 and has served at Fordingbridge Fire Station ever since firstly as a firefighter then as a crew manager since 2008.

Ross has been awarded the Fire Service Long Service Medal in 2012, Queens Golden Jubilee, Diamond and Platinum Medals and now the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service’s meritorious medal for his 30 years service.

Over the years Ross has attended many large fires and other incidents both in Fordingbridge and across Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset.

He also attended the huge forest fire in Swinley, Berkshire back in 2011.

As well as serving the local community as an on call firefighter Ross runs a property business.
