CHILDREN at St Osmund’s Catholic Primary School in Salisbury enjoyed a fun-filled day of cultural adventures.

The school on Exeter Street held celebrated its International Day on Friday, July 1, after a three-year absence.

It featured African drumming workshops, country dancing, ukulele music and an array of performances from the various communities represented at the school – all of which were performed in an entertainment extravaganza in the afternoon to parents and members of the school community. 

To start proceedings, the parents put on an International Food Festival with culinary delights from around the world.  The day featured contributions from India, Poland, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Romania, Slovakia, the UK, Singapore, China to name but a few – there were lots more.

The Mayor of the City of Salisbury, Councillor Tom Corbin was in attendance, opening the afternoon’s entertainment and enjoying the food on offer.

He said: “It was a pleasure to be invited along.  I very much enjoyed meeting so many children, parents, staff and governors who came together to celebrate their different cultures.  I indulged a little in home cooked delights and witnessed the children confidently perform music and dance all with an international flair.”
