A MAN allegedley made threats to children in a skate park and then grabbed a teenage girl by the neck during an incident in Old Sarum.

It was also reported that the man got back into his vehicle and "narrowly missed" hitting a 15-year-old boy.

Officers are investigating the incident, which happened on the Old Sarum estate at around 9.30pm on July 1.

A statement from Wiltshire Police said: "It is believed a man drove a vehicle over a pavement and into the skate park, before shouting aggressively and making threats towards children in the park.

"He is reported to have grabbed a 15-year-old girl to the neck and pulled her to the floor.

"The man then got back into his vehicle and drove off, narrowly missing hitting a 15-year-old boy as he did so.

"Fortunately, nobody was injured but the incident would have understandably been upsetting for those in the park at the time.

"We’d like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident who has not yet spoken to police."
