A MAN was assaulted and robbed in a car park in Amesbury at the weekend. 

Police say that between approximately 1.20am and 1.55am on Saturday, August 6, a man in his 50s was walking through central car park near to the public toilets when he was assaulted by a man and a woman.

As he fell to the ground the man took his wallet, phone and keys from his pockets. His bag was also stolen during the incident.

The stolen items were later recovered in the nearby area but £180 was missing from the wallet.

A statement released by Wiltshire Police said the victim sustained minor injuries.

Adding: "Unfortunately, the victim has been unable to provide a description of the suspects.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing and we would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have further information."
