A WILTSHIRE charity needs to raise awareness of mental health issues and is asking for volunteers.

Wiltshire Mind was impacted by Covid-19 and saw a subsequent drop in its voluntary income. Without statutory funding, the charity relies on fundraising support from communities across the county.

Charity chief executive officer, Paul Mills said: “All of our work and support is funded either by grants or voluntary donations. We are on the hunt for local passionate people to join a new friendly team of volunteers who can help raise awareness and raise funds for Wiltshire Mind.

“By connecting with the local community, volunteers help us build awareness of the work we do and promote better mental health for everyone in our community.”

Salisbury Journal:

In 2021, the charity helped more than 300 children, young people, and adults and the need for support continues to rise.

The charity must raise £465 per day to sustain the services it provides so that specialist counsellors are able to provide one-to-one support and use a range of creative therapeutic methods.

Wiltshire Mind believe that volunteers are essential for the charity and that by supporting and helping others, volunteers can improve their sense of purpose, self-confidence, and happiness as well as gaining new skills.
