A BMW stolen from the driveway of a house in Upavon has been found around 40 miles away in Bristol.

A house in the village was broken into on August 11 and offenders stole car keys from inside the house and made off in the BMW M3.

Officers investigating the incident have this week located the vehicle.

Wiltshire Police's Fortitude team has been carrying out enquiries in conjunction with officers from its Traffic unit and colleagues in Avon and Somerset Constabulary, and yesterday (August 16) the vehicle was located at a lock up in a unit off Douglas Road in Bristol.

The vehicle has now been recovered and will be subject to forensic examination.

Police say enquiries are continuing.

Detective Sergeant Darren Penny said: “The homeowner reported that they heard the vehicle being driven away at approximately 3am – we have been conducting extensive enquiries since and yesterday the vehicle was located.

"We are continuing with our enquiries and would urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
