THE BOATHOUSE riverside property has transitioned from a rundown building to a smart welcoming venue in a matter of weeks.

Maria Harris and husband Steven also transformed The Stag Hotel in Lyndhurst creating a thriving community hub and decided to do the same to The Boathouse.

Maria admitted: “I fell in love with the place even though it needed so much work.”

Stripped right back and repaired, the venue has been transformed and has a clean and contemporary feel.

Completed to deadline, many guests were present to witness the opening ceremony on Wednesday August 31 with Mayor Tom Corbin and guest of honour Burt Hopkins from Woodford and Hopkins who built the extension onto the original boat house in the 1970's.

Drink and food was served throughout the evening.

The Boathouse is open to the public today (Friday September 2) with a limited menu. On September 3 and September 4, there will be a full menu and live music.

As part of Taste Salisbury, a 10 per cent discount is available until September 4.
