Firefighters were called to a fire in the open near Salisbury Road, Downton yesterday afternoon, September 1.
Crews from Salisbury, Fordingbridge and Ringwood were called to deal with an agricultural fire at 1.51pm.
They were supported by a water carrier from Wilton and a landrover from Cranborne.
Firefighters saved over 300 bales of hay, but a trailer unit and approximately 150 bales of hay were destroyed.
Four hose reels and farm machinery were used to extinguish the fire and the stop message was received at 5.52pm.
