A new friendship group has been set up in Salisbury to combat isolation after the pandemic.

A Camerados ‘Public Living Room’ starts on Wednesday, September 21, from 3pm to 5pm at Brown Street.

It is a space open to all – to join in and have fun. The Camerados tepee will provide a safe space to talk, meet others, or just ‘be’.

The Public Living Room is being sponsored by Safer and Supportive Salisbury thanks to a grant from Empower and the group is grateful to Drove Lane Solar Park CIC, a 5MW solar park at Coombe Bissett, owned by Empower Community Foundation.

Anne Trevett, Chairman of Safer and Supportive Salisbury said: “A group of us in Salisbury who form Safer and Supportive Salisbury have been thinking about mental health – a hot topic after the pandemic. In addition to the new Camerados initiative, we want to shift the focus from illness to health and to think hard about what it is that makes life good for us living in Salisbury. Most of all we want ideas from people in our community.”
