THE colourful sights and sounds of Salisbury's Charter Fair are filling the city centre.
The fair was opened at 2pm on Sunday, October 16 by the Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr Tom Corbin who was joined by fellow Salisbury City Councillors and representatives from the Showman's Guild.
After the official opening ceremony, the mayor and councillors tried out the dodgems.
Cllr Corbin said: "It is the thing everyone looks forward to as children growing up with the excitement and the buzz in the schools and the knowledge that the fair is going on."
"The city is transformed by colour, light and noise," he added.
The fair in Market Place and Guildhall Square features traditional and modern rides, stalls and attractions including the carousel, dodgems, waltzer and ghost train as well as rides for those thrillseekers out there.
It runs until Wednesday, October 19. It is open until 9pm on Sunday, and on Monday to Wednesday runs from 11am until 10pm.
