A commemorative oak tree funded by residents was planted in Laverstock to remember Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Members and friends of the Milford Area Preservation Group (MAPG) planted the magnificent 12-foot oak on Whitebridge Green at 2.30pm on Saturday, October 29.
Local residents donated almost £1,000 towards the cost of the tree and its steel guard.
The group originally intended to plant the tree in celebration of The Late Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
However, it decided to dedicate the oak to her life of service and duty to Britain instead.
MAPG chair David Lovibond said: "The oak is the symbol of England.
"It has been venerated through the centuries for its strength, longevity, and its powerful association with ritual and with all the old certainties and affections of England."
The tree guard has a brass plaque recording the date and purpose of the planting.
Member Barbara Lovibond added: “It was wonderful to see so many people coming to the Green for this special event.
"We have registered the Laverstock oak as part of the Queen’s Canopy, and we are grateful to all those who helped us to mark the life of a truly remarkable woman."
