Salisbury has been named in the Best Places to Live list for 2023 by Muddy Stilettos.
The woman's lifestyle website creates a list of the 'best places to live' every year, and it has expanded its number of entrants from 200 to 250 on this occasion.
It draws upon its insight into the 28 most sought-after counties in England, guiding potential buyers to the local hot spots and up-and-coming areas.
Hero Brown, the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Muddy Stilettos, said: “When people decide to move, they’re searching for more than just a house - they want a home, a lifestyle that works for them and their family, and if they’re strategic, a long-term investment too.
We're thrilled to a launch our brand new top 250 Best Places To Live 2023, in association with @struttandparker estate agents - essential reading if you’re looking to move area, or are just curious to see if where you live has made the cut. https://t.co/IaNfCNEWCK pic.twitter.com/tIzl7Iowpu

"Our 2023 Top 250 Best Places to Live guide will give them that extra reassurance they need to make their search easier in these difficult economic times."
In describing Salisbury the website said: "Wiltshire’s only city is where medieval majesty meets contemporary cool, with access to culture, countryside and excellent schools."
Salisbury's abundance of "intimate, quirky and independent eateries" was another plus point, with establishments such as The Haunch of Venison, Tinga, Caboose and Nole Pizza individually recognised.
The city is also "blessed with plenty of excellent options" for schools according to Muddy Stilettos such as Bishop Wordsworth School and South Wilts Grammar School.
Praise also came in for its culture through the Salisbury Playhouse Theatre and Salisbury Arts Centre, as well as its shops in places like OsoBoutique and Casa Fina.
