A CARE provider is organising an event to collect Christmas donations from the public and provide them for lonely and isolated seniors in the community.
Abicare which provides home care services is organising the event named ‘Fill a Stocking for a Senior’ in Salisbury on November 22.
Representatives of the care provider will be at Tesco Express at 21-25 Castle Street from 10am to 2pm collecting donations, which they will wrap and give to lonely and isolated seniors in the community.
Abicare, which provides visiting care services in and around Salisbury, Swindon, Bradford-on-Avon, Basingstoke and South East Wales and live-in care services nationwide, had ‘Fill a Stocking for a Senior’ events before Covid.

The events held at Salisbury, Andover, Reading and Bournemouth were such a great success that they decided to do it again this year.
An Abicare spokesperson said: “Christmas can be a lonely time for many vulnerable people, with almost a million older people feeling lonelier at Christmas, many of whom have been widowed- which is why we want to make a real difference and help fill a stocking for a senior.
“We would love as many people as possible to donate a small gift.”
All the local officers of Abicare will also be accepting donations during November and December.
