A LUXURY hotel in the New Forest has been named the best boutique establishment in the UK, with another Hampshire hotel ranking in third place.
Lime Wood in Lyndhurst gained the top spot, and jumped up 18 places from last year's list, while Heckfield Place in Hook came in third
The list is curated and voted on by leading industry experts, hoteliers, travel writers and influencers and is presented by William Reed.

Lime Wood Hotel, Lyndhurst
Lime Wood is described as a "hotel to behold" by William Reed which has "luscious grounds" and "splendid interiors".
The rooms are depicted as "relaxing and plush" and have "quirky surprises" such as a "freestanding bath in a bay window or a comforting wood-burning stove in the bedroom".
Praise also comes in for its luxury dining, its onsite spa and the chance to take cookery classes.

Heckfield Place, Hook
Heckfield Place is described as the "epitome of Georgian elegance" as well as "effortlessly warm and welcoming".
Its "beautifully curated" gardens are just one selling point along with its luxury dining, with five different places on site to choose from.

Additionally, there is a spa on site which offers "comforting and rejuvenating treatments".
