A VILLAGE pet store is due to relocate to the site of a former butcher shop.

The Village Pet Shop in Ringwood Road, Bransgore, will move into the site previously occupied by Bransgore Country Market in Oak Tree Parade.

The official moving date is not yet known.

In a post on social media, The Village Pet Shop said: “As I’m sure most of you aware by now, we will be moving into the old butchers’ shop in the parade (no official date been set yet) we will update you in due course asap.

“So please don’t panic if you start to see things move out, from one shop to the next or things not quite in the usual place etc.

“Lastly with the move in mind we like to get your feedback, on what you like to see in the pet shop moving forward.

“We look forward to hearing/seeing you all soon.”

As reported, Bransgore Country Market, which was the village’s only butcher, closed in October after 12 years of trading.

The family-run business announced the closure with "great sadness” and said it was due to the rising costs.

It said: "The current situation with increasing energy and also meat costs makes it no longer viable for us to stay open.”
