Sarum Vision concluded its second annual charity bike ride with £4,230 having been raised for the Salisbury Food Bank.

Compared to last year, the team nearly doubled in size, with nine men joining the team.

Participants travelled from all over the country to take part and completed a route of over 160 miles over two days through some of the most well-known picturesque parts of Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset.

The team started from Salisbury on the first day, travelling through the New Forest to Lymington and along the coast to Swanage. The second day returned to Salisbury via Corfe Castle, West Lulworth and the North Dorset Cycleway.

Matt Wakefield, a consultant specialist at Sarum Vision who helped organise the ride, said: “We are so thankful to everyone that supported our challenge. With your help we have raised over £4000 for the Salisbury food bank.

“We were so lucky with the weather. Days before, the forecast was looking bleak.”

Maria Stevenson, Salisbury Foodbank manager, said: “We are blown away by the support of Sarum Vision. Fund matching the donations was the cherry on the top of the cake. I’m always in awe of people who challenge themselves to support good causes– it’s so selfless.  We simply couldn’t exist as a food bank without fundraisers like Sarum Vision.”
