A VAN containing "hundreds of parcels" has been stolen from outside the Journal offices.

At approximately 2.30pm, a van containing multiple parcels - which the driver said were being delivered for DPD - was stolen from Milford Street as the driver was in the middle of a delivery.

He was leaving a parcel at the Journal that was intended for another address on Milford Street.

After the package had been signed for, he returned to the street to find the van had gone.

As well as the packages, the driver’s personal mobile was inside of the vehicle at the time.

He said he was currently on the phone to his mother in Turkey, organising a visit home after nine years.

Soon after the theft, DPD used the vehicle’s tracking device to determine that it was travelling north on the A36 at approximately 54 miles per hour.

The van is described as white and is not outfitted with DPD markings.

Wiltshire Police is currently on the scene.
