The Met Office and Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for the Ebble Valley and a flood alert for the Middle Avon and its tributaries.

The Ebble Valley warning states a risk of groundwater flooding in the areas of Berwick St John, Ebblesbourne Wake, Bowerchalke, Broad Chalke, Stoke Farthing, Bishopstone, Stratford Toney, Coombe Bissett, Homington, Odstock and Nunton.

An alert for the Middle Avon advises residents to avoid using low-lying footpaths and entering areas prone to flooding.

In addition to the Ebble Valley warning and the Middle Avon alert, a flood outlook of very low risk will remain in place across the Salisbury area until Sunday, January 8.
