WILTSHIRE Creative is on the lookout for local artists to take part in their outdoor production of The Tempest in Churchill Gardens.

Salisbury Playhouse will open its doors on January 21 to the community and host a 'Discovery Day' for those with a creative flair and a keen interest to take part in, their biggest cultural event of the year.

Budding local performers are invited to perform alongside a professional cast, in The Tempest whilst there are also opportunities backstage - from making the props to dressing the park.

All ages and abilities welcome. No previous experience necessary.

A presentation discussing season highlights will kickstart the Discovery Day and following this, people can discover various “activity zones” giving insight into The Tempest, and Wiltshire Creative’s Take Part programme – an initiative that uses the transformative power of the arts to positively impact the lives of Salisbury’s local community through participation, education or, as an audience member.

Gareth Machin, artistic director of Wiltshire Creative said: “We are so excited to welcome the local community to Salisbury Playhouse on the January 21 and offer the chance to nurture or discover artistic interest; whether  by working within the professional company or taking part behind the scenes, there is an opportunity in it for everyone. We cannot wait to see you!”
