A SCHOOL has donated a piece of land to a community organisation to grow fruit and vegetables which will then be given to families who are struggling financially.
Chafyn Grove School in Bourne Road, Salisbury has helped The F3 Project, which plans to provide free fruit and vegetables for those in need.
A shed has been erected, raised beds are in place and land has been cleared and is ready for sowing.
Headmaster Simon Head said: “Both in principle and practice, this is a venture we are proud to support – and it is important that we do so.”

The school has a large vegetable garden which the pupils can tend as part of their weekly outdoor learning curriculum and support outdoor learning alongside forest school-style lessons.
The F3 Project is the name of the organisation, and Mark Brandon who was involved with the Secret Garden is now involved in the F3 project.
He had searched for land in the area previously, did a Google Earth search and found Chafyn Grove School.
The programme also serves to increase awareness of good nutrition to maintain health and to introduce young children to growing their food as well as to advise adults who are just starting out gardening and relate to climate change and sustainability.
