Ringwood and Fordingbridge teams worked together to locate a driver that ran from police using a gravel track in an attempt to break contact.

The vehicle was found nearby, parked blocking residential driveways. The driver had fled, leaving his dog in the vehicle.

Enquiries show the owner of the car is a disqualified non-licence holder, with the car having no MOT, bald tyres and a number of other hazardous defects.

The vehicle has now been seized with an investigation started into the driver’s failure to stop and other criminal driving offences.

If you know someone driving illegally or impaired through drink or drugs, please call 101 in confidence to report the driver and location details so we can target the individual for arrest and put those who put others in danger on Hampshire roads before the court.

If this is your vehicle, please contact Fordingbridge police on 101 to discuss offences and vehicle recovery
