THE sentencing of the man who killed Freddie Fontete-Jones was adjourned following one full day in court.

Connor Pool, of Salt Lane in Winterbourne Gunner, appeared in Winchester Crown Court today, February 3.

The court heard how Freddie was punched to the side of head, falling backwards after the punch and hitting his head on the side of the road.

He was given life-saving first aid by paramedics, but he subsequently suffered a number of cardiac arrests. 

He was given emergency life support in hospital, but on February 22, he had brain stem tests, and declared brain dead at 5.01pm. 

Life support was removed the following day. 

The sentencing has been adjourned until Monday, February 6, at 10.30am.

Her Honour Judge Morris said: “This case has taken its toll on many people and I don't want there to be any feeling that anybody has been rushed in what they want to say.

“That's not serving justice on any level.”
