Plans have been submitted to convert the first and second floors of buildings in Fish Row into apartments.

The vacant section of the Grade-II listed buildings, at 7-9 Fish Row, would return to their registered use as residential spaces.

If successful, applicant Ameera Properties would renovate and repair the rooms to create three new apartments in the heart of Salisbury.

Each apartment would have two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a living space.

The second floors of 7 and 9 Fish row were formerly used as the Wheatsheaf Inn manager's flat from 1963 to 1985. Since then, until around two years ago, it was used as incidental storage to the shop below.

Remedial works to the buildings would be required but the application states that they are in "reasonably good condition".

The "small scale" proposals would have a "substantial positive heritage impact on the reuse of these underused buildings," according to the applicants.

Fish Row is in the Salisbury Conservation Area which requires developments to "preserve or enhance" the character or appearance of the area.

Planning application PL/2023/01172 was submitted to Wiltshire Council on February 14.
