Five court cases of crimes committed in Salisbury or by Salisbury residents. 

CHRISTOPHER DOWNS, 39, of Hornell Close, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to driving 66mph in 40 and 50mph speed limits. 

On May 5, 2022, in Christchurch, Downs drove an Audi on the A338 Blackwater to Cooper Dean above the speed limit. Fined £217. Driving record endorsed with three points. No order for costs.

ALINAFE NKHANIWA MULENGA, 32, of Trenchard Avenue, Winterbourne Gunner, pleased guilty to drink driving. 

On June 12, 2022 in Amesbury, Mulenga was in charge of a Peugeot after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in their breath namely 83 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

Fined £446, to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £45, and costs of £250 to the Crown Prosecution Service. Disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for three months.

MARTIN POPERNIK, 27, of Farnham, Dorset, pleaded guilty to driving down Catherine Street, Salisbury, on November 1, 2022, without third-party insurance. 

Fined £307, to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £123, costs of £110, driving record endorsed with six points.

JAMES FARMER, 28, of Dinton: Commission of further offence while subject to a conditional discharge order for a period of six months imposed on July 19, 2022 for the offences of breach of closure order, possession of class B drug.

Original offence in respect of which a Conditional Discharge was made on July 19, 2022. Original offence details: On July 1, 2022, in at Salisbury he, without reasonable excuse, remained in21 Millstream Approach, Salisbury, in contravention of a closure order made on June 23. No separate penalty.

On July 1, 2022 he also had in his possession a quantity of cannabis. Fined £40.

NEW FOREST

DEXTER MARK ROGERS, aged 36 and of Old Barn Close, Ringwood, admits driving a motor vehicle on Zig Zag Hill, East Melbury, on July 3, 2022, with 117 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. Committed to prison for eight weeks, suspended for 12 months. Fined £500. To pay £154 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 36 months.

Also admits driving a motor vehicle on Zig Zag Hall, East Melbury, on July 3, 2022, while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence. Committed to prison for eight weeks, consecutive, suspended for 12 months. Driving record endorsed.

Also admits knowing that a conveyance had been taken without the consent of the owner or other lawful authority drove the said conveyance in Zig Zag Hill, East Melbury on July 3, 2022. Committed to prison for six weeks consecutive, suspended for 12 months.

Also admits using a motor vehicle in Zig Zag Hill, East Melbury, on July 3, 2022, without insurance. No separate penalty. Driving record endorsed.

EAST DORSET

ROSEMARY TURNER, aged 55 and of Mulberry Court, St Leonards, admits with Wendy Turner stealing flowers in pots and a teddy bear valued at £270 belonging to Barnardos in Wimborne Road, Bournemouth, on August 20, 2022. Discharged conditionally for 18 months. To pay £135 compensation.

WENDY MARIE TURNER, aged 31 and of Manor Gardens, Verwood, admits with Rosemary Turner stealing flowers in pots and a teddy bear valued at £270 belonging to Barnardos in Wimborne Road, Bournemouth, on August 20, 2022. Discharged conditionally for 18 months. To pay £135 compensation.
