A FARM will be showcased on a popular country television programme next week.

River Bourne Community Farm, on Cow Lane near Laverstock, was visited by crews from the BBC to film as part of an episode of Escape to the Country in August 2022.

The sunny afternoon was a success and the episode will be aired at 3pm on Tuesday, March 28, on BBC One and will then be available for 30 days afterwards on IPlayer.

During presenter Nicki Chapman's visit, she had the pleasure of cuddling the Pygmy billy goats and was astonished when Stan, one of the pigs, "sat like a dog" after being presented with an apple.

Sara-Jane Hancock, the education and marketing manager at the farm, said she "can't wait" to see the episode and that the team plans to do a 'watch party'.

She added: "Going on near prime time BBC 1 is a bit of an affirmation that we are a great place and what we are doing is a good thing.

"If it raises awareness about what we do that is fantastic."
