A PUB in Broad Chalke has celebrated success following its reopening under new owners last week.

The Queen's Head, in North Street, underwent refurbishments after it was acquired by the Chickpea Group in February.

Local villagers were invited in for drinks on Friday, March 17, and the pub had its grand reopening on Saturday, March 18.

Director Ethan Davids, at the Chickpea Group, said the turnout was immense and the pub was "packed with standing room only", adding: "It went really nicely. It was great for the village and people from surrounding villages to come out and support us."

The whole downstairs of the pub has been stripped back and opened up and Ethan said there's not one bad seat in the venue.

"You can either see a fire or the bar from every seat, it's cosy," he added.

The reception from locals was great and customers gave "very positive" feedback on the changes.

Chickpea owns Nole Pizza in Salisbury and four other pubs in the region, including The Pembroke Arms in Wilton, The Grosvenor Arms in Hindon, The Bell and Crown in Zeals and The Dog and Gun in Netheravon.

Ethan said the location of the Queen's Head sets it apart from the rest, he said: "It sits prominently in the Chalke Valley, it's proper Wiltshire countryside."
