FOUR days of strike action is set to take place in April and Salisbury District Hospital has responded with a message to patients.

Junior doctors of the British Medical Association (BMA) will walk out for a total of 96 hours from April 11 to April 15.

It is the second round of industrial action in the trade union's fight for a 35 per cent pay rise in England.

The strikes are set to cause disruption at Salisbury District Hospital while it operates a 'Bank Holiday level' of service on affected days.

BMA action earlier this month saw staff stretched and patients' appointments delayed.

A spokesperson for Salisbury District Hospital said: "Please still attend A&E if in need of urgent care and be patient as teams will prioritise the most urgent cases.

"The hospital will contact individuals direct if an appointment needs to be changed."

If you are a patient who will be affected by these strikes, please get in touch by emailing newsdesk@salisburyjournal.co.uk.
