Gray’s Stone Carving Studio in Bowerchalke will be exhibiting as part of the Wylye Valley Arts Trail for the first time in its 12-year history.

Gray’s Stone Carving Studio is venue number one on the art trail before it winds its way through 72 more stops in Cranborne Chase and the surrounding area, leading to its final destination at Salisbury Arts Scene in Steeple Langford.

Gray’s Stone Carving Studio will be displaying pieces from 10 students, as well as studio leaders Henry Gray, his wife Tamsin and metalworks pieces from the neighbouring Rich Twisted Arc studio.

This year’s Wylye Valley Arts Trail will be the first time some of the studio’s students have ever exhibited.

Henry said: “We’ll make sure that the students get priority and get the students’ work shown, because our work we can always sell on the website or on other occasions.”

Some of the students have attended the studio for more than five years.

Henry said: “My goal as a teacher is to be able to help people make what they want to make.”

The Wylye Valley Arts Trail will be open from Saturday, April 29 to Monday, May 8. Directions, a map of the trail and information about all 73 venues are available here.
