Two crews from Salisbury Fire Station attended Culver Street Car Park to find an empty tent well alight, along with belongings contained within.

The incident occurred at 7.13pm on Monday, May 8. Firefighters used a hose reel to successfully extinguish the fire by 7.30pm.

The tent was destroyed, but no injuries were reported as nobody was inside.

Soon after, a crew from Wilton were mobilised to a property on Church Road in Laverstock in response to a report of smoke seen inside a building at 7.27pm.

The two Salisbury crews fighting the tent fire were dispatched directly from Culver Street to the address in Laverstock.

After an inspection, no fire was found at the Laverstock site despite the presence of smoke. Fire crews concluded their efforts at 8.08pm.
