A NUMBER of burglaries which took place in the Ringwood area overnight this month are being investigated.

Ringwood police have confirmed that all the burglaries took place overnight on Friday, May 12 and Monday, May 15.

New Forest West Inspector, Darren Ord, said: “We understand that news of these burglaries in Ringwood from over the weekend will cause concern within the local community.

“We want to reassure people that we take these reports very seriously. My officers will be conducting high-visibility patrols in the local area in the coming days and over the weekend to act as a deterrent for these would-be opportunists."

The list of offences includes:

  • Entry into a shop on Christchurch Road via the front door. A till was removed from the premises but returned a short while later. This happened in the early hours of Saturday, May 13.
  • A quantity of cash was taken from a cash drawer of a salon on Christchurch Road at about 2.30am on Saturday, May 13.
  • A burglary took place in a shop on Southampton Road at about 4.40am on Saturday, May 13. Approximately, £100 worth of products were removed from the premises.
  • A garage was broken into on Betsy Lane between 8.30pm on Sunday, May 14 and 7.10am on Monday, May 15 and two high-end bicycles were stolen.

New Forest West Inspector, Darren Ord added: “We will continue to relentlessly pursue criminals so that their lives, not those of local people, are a misery. We are absolutely clear that this behaviour will not be tolerated.

“Criminals need to know that the New Forest is a hostile environment for them and that every effort will be made to seek justice for victims.”
