Residents from Milford House Care Home in Salisbury were delighted to be at River Bourne Community Farm in Laverstock to hand over a cheque for £367.

The residents have made the farm their chosen charity for 2023 and so far this year have raised a grand total of £607.

Gemma Hicks, general manager at Milford House, said: “Residents love visiting the farm regularly, and so to be raising money for all the fantastic work that they do seemed perfect.

"This latest donation was from our recent  'Big Coronation Cream Tea Party & Fete'  and we felt supported the King's wish for more people to get involved in their local communities.  We may not be able to volunteer on the farm but raising money for them is the next best thing.  Our residents are always made to feel so welcome when they visit and we are so lucky to have the farm right on our doorstep."

River Bourne Community Farm, founded in 2010 by Benjamin A Parker MBE, operates as a community interest company (CIC) to educate children and young people about agriculture. The farm includes a small animal barn, an aviary, farm shop and café, and nature trails on or near the farm.
