WILTSHIRE Council is reminding residents that voter ID is now required, with a small number of elections due to take place in the county in the coming weeks.
This includes elections in Tisbury and Amesbury taking place on Thursday, June 8.
- Tisbury Unitary Division of Wiltshire Council
- Amesbury Town Council - Amesbury South Ward
- Amesbury Town Council - Amesbury West Ward
If anyone doesn't have accepted photo ID but want to vote, they can apply for a free voter ID document, which is known as a Voter Authority Certificate.
The deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate was 5pm on Wednesday, May 31.
Voters can check their poll cards to see the acceptable ID or go online for more information at www.electoralcommission.org.uk/voterID. Voters will not be able to vote unless they have acceptable ID.
Terence Herbert, Returning Officer for Wiltshire, said: "For those who want to vote in person at these local elections and don't have the appropriate ID there is still time to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate.
"We don't want a lack of ID to prevent people from casting their ballot. So I ask people to please remember their ID or certificate before they head out to vote."
