A woman has pleaded guilty to eight counts of theft following a shoplifting spree across May and June in which she stole approximately £1,500 worth of merchandise from stores across Salisbury.
Shannon Graham, 35, of Barnard Street, appeared before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 21 to answer the charges.
After pleading guilty, she was sentenced to 18 weeks imprisonment and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £154.
Within Salisbury City Centre, 47 incidences of shoplifting were reported between January and April of this year.
In April (the most recent month for which data is available), it was the fourth most reported type of offence, after violent/sexual offences, anti-social behaviour and criminal damage/arson.
