It is certainly not well known that "the library needs a new home" (Claire Tanner, Postbag, July 6).
There is nothing wrong with the present location that proper and regular maintenance with a bit of TLC could not fix.
The suggestion that the "library's current functions" should be split into more than one site is not helpful.
Salisbury Library will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in the former Market House in 2025 and 135 years of community service in the same year.
Maybe that length of service has earned both consideration and respect?
