THE parents of the man killed in the Bemerton Heath stabbing have said "no one should have to go through something like this".

Deyan and Antoniya Genov's son Tsvetomir died on August 22 after being stabbed in Gainsborough Close.

Speaking to the Journal, Deyan and Antoniya have said it is "really hurting", but have thanked all the emergency services for their efforts over the last week.

They said: "Unfortunately no one and nothing will bring our son back and he will be forever 20.

"20-year-old son, brother to two and father of a little boy is not here anymore as someone has taken his life. No words for this, just stones in our hearts."

Floral tributes have been left to Tsvetomir on Gainsborough Close.

Written in one card, a tribute reads: "You will always be the moon, stars and my sunshine in the sky. I will always miss you forever."

Deyan and Antoniya added: "A big thanks you to all community and friends for their sympathy, flowers, cards and support.

"It is lovely to see so many people thinking of Tsvetomir and us. A lot of people got in touch with us and it is really appreciated. People we don’t know [have been] crying and praying for our son, offering us help … it is heartbreaking."

Maurice Jones, 25 of Gainsborough Close, Bemerton Heath, has been charged with murder in connection with the incident.

His trial date has been set for Monday February 5, in Winchester Crown Court.
