Local Methodists are inviting everybody to come along to an Eco Fair in Amesbury for activities and information on how households can reduce waste and carbon emissions, there will be something for everyone at the fair held at Amesbury Methodist Church.

Due to be opened by the Mayor of Amesbury, Councillor Monica Devendran, on Saturday, September 30 and from 10am to 3pm, the Eco Fair will showcase stalls from the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, Share Salisbury – The Library of Things, Bemerton Children’s Clothing Exchange, Medic2Medic terracycle recycling schemes, Salisbury Fairtrade shop, Extinction Rebellion and others.

Contributors will be on hand to share their stories of converting to green energy and there will be opportunities to recycle items that can't go in your curbside recycling bin (printer cartridges, mobile phones and small electronic devices, spectacles, bras, postage stamps, greetings cards, Pringles tubes and crisp/snack packets).

Outside on the field there will be fun and games for all ages, including craft activities to help people provide support for birds, bees and insects in your own outdoor space. Fairtrade tea, coffee and homemade cakes will be on sale, as well as plants, planet-friendly household refills and natural skincare from Salisbury-based Kindness Naturally and handmade goods by local artisans.

On behalf of the Salisbury circuit, a family of 10 local Methodist churches, Amesbury Methodist Church is hosting this fair as part of the celebration of the season of Creation. The season, observed by Christians worldwide, runs from Friday, September 1, World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, to Wednesday, October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
