THE boss of Salisbury District Hospital has resigned to move north and run another NHS trust.

Stacey Hunter has been chief executive officer at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust since September 2020.

But on Tuesday, October 17, the hospital announced that she has been appointed group chief executive office at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and James Cook NHS Hospital.

A spokesperson for Salisbury District Hospital said: "Stacey has been an inspirational chief executive. Her commitment to patient care and improving the experience of our workforce is there for all to see.

"Through some extraordinarily challenging times, Stacey has consistently led us with humanity, graciousness and openness.

"It's a wonderful opportunity and definitely our loss."

Stacey replaced Cara Charles-Barks MBE, when she joined from the Trust from Bradford and Airedale Foundation Trusts from where she had recently been seconded to the Nightingale Hospital Yorkshire and the Humber as Chief Operating Officer.

Stacey started her career as a nurse in 1990 at Hull Hospitals and Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
