A DRIVER who was caught speeding 36 miles per hour over the speed limit 'thought it was a 70'.

Officers from Wiltshire Police's special operations unit caught the man on a section of the A36 on Monday, October 23.

The Renault driver, who already had 11 points on his record for speeding, was recorded travelling at 86 miles per hour on a 50-limit road.

A spokesperson for the force said the man "thought it was a 70".

They added: "Driver was not happy he’ll be explaining to a magistrate why he’s been captured speeding again."
