November has arrived which means we're fully into the swing of autumn with mere weeks left until Christmas. Summer was just a few days ago, right?

The nights are darker, the air is chillier and the compulsion to sit in front of a log fire with a pint has never been greater.

Where is best? Well, The Times has published a list of all the best pubs in the UK that meet the ultimate autumn pub criteria. 

They state: "Once the clocks have gone back and the temperatures have gone down, the only civilised place to while away a weekend is in the pub," quite right indeed!

"Their dimly lit bars, blazing fires and stress-free “woollies and wellies” dress code turn being confined indoors into a guilty pleasure.

Their list compiles 27 of the most endearing pubs to get snug in this autumn, with the full list being able to see here.

The Lamb

Hindon, Wiltshire

"The 12th-century bone structure of this coaching inn in too-cute Hindon is gratifyingly olde worlde, with brushed brass fittings, cosy claret-red colours and three open fires.

"Thankfully, the bedrooms, fresh from a revamp, are 100 per cent 21st-century swanky, with Hypnos mattresses and rainforest showers. Nearby Stonehenge and the Wiltshire hills offer classy routes to your 10,000 steps, or time your stay to coincide with the regular walk with locals and their dogs.
