A WINTER 'wanderland' took place in Ringwood at the weekend with Santa parades, a variety of stalls and a Polar Express miniature railway running through the streets. 

The first Santa Parade started at 11.30 am on Sunday, November 26 with the parade travelling to The Furlong Shopping Centre, into the High Street and Market Place and ending at Meeting House Lane.

More than 60 market stalls were set up with arts, crafts, gifts, produce and charity stalls with a selection of food options. The market stretched from Friday's Cross down to the Market Place.

Choirs, stalls and children's entertainment filled the Gateway Square and street entertainment took place throughout the afternoon with local performers taking to the stage in the Market Place from 1.30pm.

Performances included the Ringwood and Burley Band in the High Street with the Polar Express running.

The second parade of the day began at 5.45 pm with the Christmas light switch-on at 6pm and tickets for Santa's Grotto located at Ringwood Gateway were completely sold out.
