THE boss of a care group with a home in Landford has been named 'Businesswoman of the Year'.

Natasha Lazovic, managing director of Barchester Healthcare's South Division, bagged the award at the Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards in London on Tuesday, November 21.

The Gala Awards ceremony was set up to highlight and celebrate the incredible achievements of female leaders across the care sector.

Cedars Care Home in Landford is among the 80 homes Natasha oversees. She came to the UK in 1994 from Serbia and trained as a nurse before progressing through the NHS and private sector.

In 2014, Natasha joined Barchester as regional director leading 10 homes, which doubled to 20 as senior regional director, before being promoted to managing director.

Reflecting on winning the award, Natasha said: “I am so grateful and humbled to win this award, I had no idea I had even been nominated!

"My role is challenging but I absolutely love every aspect of it and I think my passion shines through. I love nurturing my teams and ensuring our residents are living life to the full."

Natasha thanked her colleagues who have 'motivated her to be her best'. Barchester’s CEO, Dr Pete Calveley, said: “I could not be prouder of Natasha. She has had an amazing career and she is a shining example to all her teams that with hard work, you really can achieve anything. 

"I have had the privilege of working alongside her for over 18 years now and no one deserves this award more. She is an exceptional leader and businesswoman."
