A NEW Wilton barbershop had an "encouraging" first week after it expanded from Salisbury.
Laflin's Barbers opened at 15 North Street on Monday, December 11, following a 72-hour refurbishment during which new flooring, lighting and signage were installed.
Business owner Chris Laflin, who opened Laflin's in Salisbury 13 years ago, said he's had "a really good reception" from Wilton residents during the first week.
"Our first week has been really encouraging and better than I thought it would be. We've had existing trade coming from Salisbury and new trade visiting us here," he said.
Aaron Hicks began as a barber at Laflin’s four years ago but worked his way up to become director of the new shop.
Despite a slightly stressful set-up, he is "really happy" with how the shop is looking now.
“It’s not too far from Salisbury so my existing clients can come. Getting into Salisbury can be quite difficult at the moment and free parking here is a bonus," Mr Hicks added.
The 24-year-old, who offers traditional cut-throat trims and “high standard haircuts”, hopes to grow the shop to a point where he can eventually bring in another barber.
A haircut at Laflin’s typically costs £13 and the shop opens from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, 9am to 7pm Fridays and 8am to 3pm on Saturdays.
Laflin’s will also open on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
