A 'CARELESS' driver was reportedly caught speeding in an Audi with no licence or insurance.
The man was driving "well below the expectations of a safe and competent driver" at approximately 70 miles per hour in a 40-limit zone.
It was discovered that the man had a revoked driving license after he was stopped by patrolling officers PC Hopper and PC Willdigg in Amesbury on Saturday night, December 16.
He was reported by officers for driving carelessly otherwise in accordance with his license, otherwise in accordance with his insurance.
The driver's car was seized and he will have to attend court at a later date.
PC Hopper said: “It is very important for drivers to drive safely and within the law to prevent fatal collisions.
"If you see a driver driving unsafely either call 999 or 101 and a report will be made and officers will be dispatched."
The patrol came as part of Wiltshire Police's Christmas Drink Drive Campaign as well as focusing on the 'Fatal 5'.
These include careless driving, drink/drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt, distractions (such as a mobile phone) and speeding.
