PENSIONERS at a sheltered home in Salisbury are feeling left out after thieves broke in and stole their Christmas dinner.

Whole turkeys, legs of lamb and other frozen food were reportedly taken from a shed near Abbeyfield's MacGregor House, Manor Road, on Monday night, December 18.

The incident has left Boldre House resident Keith Driscoll feeling "very upset" and hopes the person who stole the food is caught.

"What sort of person would target the elderly people who live in sheltered housing? We should feel safe, not worry about things like this," he said.

Mr Driscoll has lived in Boldre House for almost three years and this was the first he's heard of food being stolen from the freezer.

"If they are ever caught I do hope they are named so that maybe they might feel some remorse," he added.

Staying positive though, Mr Driscoll said he is "sure" the residents will get through this and believes the food will be replaced by Abbeyfield.

Wiltshire Police conducted initial inquiries but the has closed the case with no further action.

Abbeyfield has been contacted for more information.
