A family of three were the subject of a horror attack just days before Christmas.

A mum and dad, both in their 30s, and a child were approached by a man with a knife while in the coach park at Chievely services in their Ford Transit Campervan on December 23 at around 3.15pm.

The dad left his vehicle and challenged the man before leading him away from his family.

The offender then got into his Range Rover and drove at the man multiple times but missed before driving away.

But he then came back in his car and rammed the campervan multiple times, which had the family inside.

Officers attended swiftly and arrested a 42-year-old man from Slough on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm, affray, dangerous driving, and threatening behaviour. He remains in police custody.

Thankfully, no one was injured but three cars were damaged.

Detective Sergeant Marcus Burrows said: “I understand this assault and affray may have been alarming for those who witnessed it and those hearing about it.

“However, thankfully, no one was injured and there is no ongoing risk to the public.

“We are investigating it thoroughly; we remain at the services as our enquiries continue, with a scene in place in the overflow car park.

“Anyone with concerns should speak to a uniformed officer.

“I am appealing for witnesses to any part of this incident to please come forward.
