CABOOSE is closing its cocktail bar after four-and-a-half years.

In a post on Facebook, the owners The Immersive Group announced that the parlour will close from today (January 8).

The group said: "We have had an amazing four and half years of shaking up premium cocktails, and serving delicious homemade afternoon teas.

"Transforming The Cat Tavern into Caboose Residence and Parlour has been one of our proudest achievements. However, it is becoming harder to balance the needs of our growing Residence business with the growth plans we have for the Parlour."

Previously The Cat Tavern, the bar on South Western Road was inspired by the rich history of the building and its former patrons, including railway engineers and commuters.

The team is now "actively" viewing potential new properties in the city centre to relocate thecocktail Parlour into.

The hotel is still open for business and guests will receive discounts for cocktails at Tinga and Hixon during their stay at Caboose.

It is also still taking bookings for private hire of the Parlour and bedrooms.

The Facebook post added: "Please email to make an enquiry.

Valid vouchers can also be redeemed at any other The Immersive Group venue in the City.

"Please email to arrange transfer and to make your reservation. A big thank you to everyone who has supported us, we cannot wait to give you an update once a new home has been found!

"Dave, Aimee, Matthew & all the Caboose team."
